Andrew Miller — Central Bucks School District

This installment of our series of interviews with school director candidates across Pennsylvania brings us to the Central Bucks School District.

Andrew Miller is running for school director in Central Bucks School District, Region 2. He is a registered Republican and works in law enforcement.

Why are you running for school board?

I’m running for the Central Bucks School Board to restore focus on academic excellence,  transparency, and respectful dialogue. As a proud father of four children and a committed member of this incredible community, I believe our district deserves steady, common sense leadership that puts students first. The families of Central Bucks are asking for change, real collaboration, real accountability, and a renewed focus on what matters most: our kids’ education. I’m stepping up to be part of that change and to help bring stability, unity, and trust back to our school board.

What are the most important issues facing your district?

Our district is facing several critical issues. First and foremost, we must ensure that  academic outcomes are equal to or greater than the dollars we spend. Families deserve a return on investment that prioritizes student achievement. We also need to focus on  restoring public trust and bringing balance back to the board, creating a culture of  transparency and collaboration. Lastly, we must establish stability at the leadership level,  which will filter down to support our incredible teachers and staff, in turn giving them the  consistent direction and support they need to thrive in the classroom.

What is your professional background/experience? What skills would you bring to the board?

I bring 15 years of experience in law enforcement, where I developed skills in leadership,  crisis management, and community engagement. I also understand how to work  collaboratively under pressure, make evidence-based decisions, and ensure accountability — skills that directly translate to responsible school board governance.

Have you run for political office previously? Have you been politically active?

This is my first time running for political office. While I have not held office before, I’ve  been actively involved in the community and believe this is the right time to step forward  and serve in a more formal capacity.

Are you running with other candidates?

Yes. I am proud to be part of the Care for CBSD team that stands for Community  Advocates for Responsible Education. We are a group of like-minded candidates  committed to restoring academic rigor, transparency, and respectful engagement with the community.

What is the most important role of the school board in your opinion?

The school board’s most important role is to ensure that district policies serve the  educational needs of all students while being transparent and accountable to parents and taxpayers. That includes hiring qualified leadership, approving budgets responsibly, and safeguarding the district’s mission of academic achievement and community trust.
