Andy Bloom: What’s weirder than Trump and Vance?

The Democrat’s latest attack against former President Donald Trump and his running-mate, Ohio Senator JD Vance, is they’re “weird.”

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz started the buzzword trending during one of his many TV appearances during his current grovel-a-thon to win the Kamala Harris Veep-stakes.

The phrase caught on, and the memo went out to all Democrats to start referring to Trump and Vance as “weird.” That got me thinking about other weird things.

You know what’s weird? In a country where Democrats argue statistics suggest crime is down, but people feel less safe, thinking Harris would even consider choosing as her running mate a governor who allowed three days of rioting while the biggest city in his state burned, including incinerating a police precinct before doing anything to end what the media referred to as “mostly peaceful” protests.

You know what’s weird? After spending four years telling us that the oldest president didn’t mean anything, Democrats now tell us that actually, it is a big deal – even though the guy who got shot in the head stood up immediately and told his supporters to “fight, fight, fight.” How they have any credibility is weird.

You know what’s weird? Democrats believed that behind closed doors, Joe Biden was doing cartwheels and backflips while simultaneously solving quantum physics problems for NASA, and any videos that suggested anything to the contrary were “cheap fakes.” Vice President Harris had lunch with the President every Wednesday and never noticed his cognitive decline – or lied to Americans about it.

You know what’s weird? June 27 was D-Day, the debate Biden himself insisted on with rules his campaign dictated. There could be no claims of fake videos, and the coverup was exposed as Biden melted before the country’s eyes. Democrats were surprised, shocked, and completely blindsided to find out that Fox News wasn’t lying, but the rest of the mainstream media had been about Biden’s cognitive impairment.

You know what’s weird? How quickly Biden’s lifelong friends turned on him. Donors stopped contributing, and the polls showed that Biden would lose and take the House and Senate down with him. Democratic politicians could live with Joe losing; none of them really believed that democracy was in peril. But when they saw their careers ending abruptly with his, they forced him out of the campaign pronto. Maybe that isn’t so weird.

You know what’s weird? Nobody is saying why Biden had to leave the campaign but not the presidency. Did Democrats force Biden out because he couldn’t win or isn’t competent? Either way, what lesson is the party that claims only it can save democracy teaching Americans?

You know what’s weird? After bullying any potential Democratic challengers against Biden to stay out of the primaries and fourteen million primary voters showed up for him this year, throwing them all away to anoint Harris, who has never received a single presidential primary vote, never undergone the vetting of a primary campaign, and without any voice of opposition.

You know what’s weird? After all the talk about the Democrats’ deep bench and an open convention, watching the party fall immediately into line behind Harris. What Democrats don’t find weird is the lack of dissent, and therefore none is tolerated.

You know what’s weird? As recently as September 2023, prominent Democrats and liberal columnists called on Biden to drop Harris and select a new running mate for 2024. Just weeks ago, her approval ratings were lower than Biden’s, who had lower approval scores than Trump. Now, she’s the second coming of Barack Obama and more popular than Taylor Swift.

You know what’s weird? Only three years ago, media outlets such as Axios reported that Vice President Kamala Harris was appointed by President Biden as “border czar” (Axios – April 14, 2021). Now they are scrubbing their websites and denying she was ever any such thing.

You know what’s weird? Nearly two weeks after being anointed the Democratic Party’s nominee, her campaign website is where you go to buy her swag, volunteer, and — most importantly — donate lots of money. However, if you want to learn about Harris’s stand on the issues, you’ll have to look elsewhere because she still doesn’t have an issues section on her website. Weird how unimportant issues are to Harris, the media, and those enthusiastically lining up with her.

You know what’s weird? While Harris hasn’t posted her positions on issues on her website, there are videos where she voices her far-left stands on open borders, fracking, single-payer government healthcare (socialized medicine) — including for illegal immigrants, mandatory gun confiscation, restricting eating meat (part of her Green New Deal climate agenda), and not calling radical Islamic terrorism what it is. Her newfound supporters say those were long ago, and she’s evolved. But leopards don’t change their spots, and zebras don’t change their stripes.

You know what’s weird? Democrats can rationalize some things but never let go of others. Remember when the debate was “one bad night”? Everything Harris said in 2019, when she belly-flopped in her first presidential run, is forgotten because it was “a long time ago,” just like her border czar failure. In an NBC News interview, Lester Holt pointed out that she had never been to the border, and she said, “And I haven’t been to Europe. I don’t understand the point that you’re making,” before letting out that cackle — never happened. (What a colossal demonstration of incompetence). But a couple-hour riot on January 6 – Never Forget! It’s worse than 9/11, Pearl Harbor, Watergate, and the Civil War combined.

You know what’s weird? Democrats, including Harris, keep saying that this campaign is about issues and the future, but all they talk about is Trump is an awful person.

You know what’s weird? Trump was president for four years. There were no concentration camps. The IRS or the DoJ didn’t go after political enemies – which is more than we can say about the administrations before and after his. Journalists weren’t censored (except those telling the truth about Hunter’s laptop). Trump didn’t start any wars. The U.S. wasn’t paying for two proxy wars. All the horrible stuff Democrats assure us Trump will do didn’t happen when he was president.

You know what else is weird? Harris’s entire campaign thus far is about coconut and BRAT memes and her identity (which, if Republicans mention, it’s racist), but she’s a serious candidate.

You know what’s really weird? Kamala’s cackle.

Imagine her cackling during a negotiation with Putin, Xi, the Mullahs in Iran, or with Hamas.

Tim Walz thinks Trump and Vance are weird. They’ve been called worse.

Kamala Harris and the Democrats aren’t just weird. They’re dangerous, and that’s worse than weird. It also explains why more than 60 percent of Americans, in every poll, say the country is heading in the wrong direction. A little weirdness might be what it takes to fix the nation’s problems.

  1. You know what’s weird? Running the same Neanderthal clown that lost you the entire election in 2020. You had so many candidates to choose from, but you picked the biggest loser of them all. That’s weird.

    Get used to Kamala’s cackle.

  2. I am acquainted with numerous bats*** crazy Democrat women.
    Numerous.
I will concede that not all of them are childless.
And not all of them are female.
