Candidate Spotlight Series: Liz Piazza
Welcome back to Broad + Liberty’s Candidate Spotlight Series! We reached out to candidates all across the Commonwealth up for election to public office — Democrats and Republicans, incumbents and challengers. Those who responded will have their answers shared on our website.
Liz Piazza is running for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in district 165, covering parts of Delaware County. She is the CEO of Piazza Property Pros and a registered Republican.
What is the most important issue impacting Pennsylvania?
Everyone that I speak with points out how much everything costs from groceries to electricity to gasoline. Everything costs more, and everyone is impacted and feeling pinched.
What is the most important issue impacting your district?
The cost of living and inflation.
What do you consider your greatest professional accomplishment?
In 2015, I was recognized by the Delaware County Bar Association Family Law Division for my dedication and service to the Family Law Division in Delaware County.
If you could pass one piece of legislation, what would it be and why?
I’ve seen first-hand the horrific impact that drugs have on families. As a grandmother who is raising my grandchildren, I believe that more can be done to assist grandparents who are raising their grandchildren as a result of the drug crisis.
What aspects of state government are you the least satisfied with?
I think people are tired of partisan politicians who care more about appealing to their extreme supporters than they do about doing what is in the best interest of their district. We need more elected officials who do what is in the best interest of our local communities and families.
What was the best piece of Pennsylvania legislation passed in the last four years?
Act 1 of 2023 which eliminated all costs associated with breast MRIs, ultrasounds, genetic testing and counseling for high-risk individuals insured in Pennsylvania.
What is your favorite thing to do in Pennsylvania?
I enjoy traveling around Pennsylvania with my grandchildren to experience historical sites, entertainment, and food.
The candidate spotlight series series is open to any state office candidate on the ballot in November. Please contact barosica@broadandliberty.com for more information.
